General information

The protection and security of your personal data is important to us. This website therefore stores and processes data exclusively in accordance with the German and European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You as a user consent to data processing in the sense of this regulation. The current version of the GDPR can be found here.

This privacy policy applies only to this website. If you are redirected to other sites via links on our pages, please inform yourself immediately on the redirected website about the respective handling of your data. Your personal data (e.g. title, name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, bank details) will be processed by us only in accordance with the provisions of German data protection law. The following privacy policy informs you about the type, scope and purpose of collecting, processing and using personal data.

We would like to point out that data transmission on the internet (e.g. communication by e-mail or via non-encrypted websites) can be subject to security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is therefore not possible.

Code of Conduct

Code of conduct from the German insurance industry on processing personal data

We take the protection of your privacy very seriously when collecting, processing and using your personal data in accordance with the statutory provisions. We therefore opted into the insurance industry's code of conduct on processing personal data on 1 July 2013. Companies opting into the code of conduct undertake to comply with the agreed requirements and, when necessary, to implement within the specified period any regulations still to be adopted.

The code of conduct sets out rules on how personal data (e.g. for carrying out or terminating insurance contracts) should be processed, thereby creating uniform standards across the insurance industry.
The code of conduct was drawn up together with representatives from the German data protection authorities, the Federation of German Consumer Organisations (Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband e.V. (vzbv)), the German Insurance Association (Gesamtverband der Deutschen Versicherungswirtschaft (GDV)). It has been declared GDPR-compliant by the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

SSL encryption

This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content such as inquiries you send to us, the site operator. An encrypted connection is identified by the address line changing from "http://" to "https://" and by a lock symbol in the browser.

If SSL encryption is activated, the data that you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Links

Links that take you away from our website are very carefully checked. However, we assume no responsibility or liability for the content of pages linked from this website or any other internet presence.

Should you notice that links on our website refer to websites whose contents violate applicable laws, please notify us at the e-mail address datenschutz(at)rheinland-versicherungen.de. We will then immediately remove these links from the website.

Web analytics

We continuously work to optimise our online offerings. To be able to provide exactly the information that is being searched and requested and to constantly improve our website, we analyse visitor behaviour on our homepage.

NETMIND CORE TECHNOLOGY

The Netmind Core technology is used for analysis.

With Netmind Core, IP addresses are anonymised for the analyses to such an extent that assigning them to a person is not possible.

To block your tracking, Netmind Core must install a cookie on your computer. Cookies are small text files that can be read by a wide variety of software to process the information stored in them. Make the appropriate browser settings to enable you to revoke the use of cookies.

We guarantee now and in the future that anonymous data collected by Netmind Core on this website will be used only for market research and optimisation purposes. The anonymous data is stored by Mindlab in Germany, where we can guarantee the best possible security against external access. No data will be transferred abroad. Because Netmind Core IP addresses are anonymised, linking persons to individual data records is technically not possible. Any sale or transfer of the data to third parties is therefore worthless and is also excluded by the RheinLand Versicherungsgruppe and is not supported at any time.

Further information on GDPR and DATA PROTECTION can be found here.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS

This website also uses the "Google Analytics" web analysis service to analyse website usage. The provider is Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA).

The service uses "cookies", text files that are stored on your device and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information collected by the cookies is usually sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google Analytics cookies are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.

IP anonymisation

IP anonymisation is enabled on this website. This shortens the IP addresses of users within the member states of the EU and the European Economic Area. Shortening of the IP address omits any personal reference to it. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted first to a Google server in the USA and then shortened there.
As part of the order data agreement that the website operators have concluded with Google Inc., Google Inc. uses the information collected to compile an analysis of website usage and website activities and to provide services associated with internet usage.

Browser plugin

You have the option of preventing cookies from being stored on your device by making the appropriate settings in your browser. However, no guarantee can then be given that you have unrestricted access to all the website's functions.

You can also use a browser plug-in to prevent the information collected by cookies (including your IP address) from being sent to and used by Google Inc. You can find the corresponding plugin here.

Cookies, log files and more

There are three categories of cookies:

  • Cookies that are absolutely necessary to ensure the website's basic functioning
  • Functional cookies to ensure the website's performance
  • Targeted cookies to improve user experience

Some of the internet pages use so-called cookies. Cookies do not damage your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our offer more user-friendly, more effective and more secure. Cookies are small text files which are stored by your browser on your computer.

Most of the cookies we use are "session cookies". These are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser at your next visit.

You can set your browser to inform you when cookies are set and to allow cookies only in individual cases, to accept cookies for specific cases or to generally exclude them and activate automatic deletion of cookies when the browser is closed. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be restricted.

Functional limitations without cookies

If you do not give us general permission to use cookies, certain features and pages will not function as expected.

Server log files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files which your browser automatically transmits to us. This information is:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Hostname of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

The data is also stored in our system log files. The data is not stored together with any other personal data about the user. A consolidation of this data with other data sources does not take place. We reserve the right to subsequently check this data if we become aware of concrete evidence of illegal use.

Use of JavaScript

JavaScript programs are simple programs downloaded from the server for execution in the browser and which enable operation of a page. JavaScript is used, for example, to enhance the website's visual presentation options or to simplify the operation of certain forms.

Social networks

Our website uses social plugins ("plugins") from several social networks, including Facebook, Xing, Instagram and the like. The plugins are marked with a logo or the addition "social plugin". If you call up a page on our website that contains such a plugin, these plugins can establish direct connections with the social network and, when applicable, transmit data. Communication takes place between the plugin, your browser and the social network. By integrating the plugins, the social networks receive the information that you have accessed in the corresponding page of our website. If you are already logged in to the social network, the social network can assign the visit to your account. If you interact with the plugins, e.g. click on the "Like" button or make a comment, the corresponding information is transmitted directly to the social network and stored there according to the guidelines of the social network. The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the social network as well as your rights in this respect, and the setting of options for the protection of your privacy, can be found in the data protection information of the respective social network. If you do not want social networks to be informed of your visit to our website, you must log out from the social networks before visiting our website or using the app.

If the main task of a service provider is to collect, process and use personal data, the service provider will be named in the list. The service providers for whom the processing of personal data is not the main task, such as workshops or document storage facilities, are listed in categories in the service provider list. You may object to the transfer of data to companies named in the service provider list in individual cases, stating your reasons.
